UBE Advances Sustainable Agriculture, Supporting Farmers to Utilize By-products to Reduce Costs and Increase Yields

On April 9, 2026, Ubon Bio Ethanol Public Company Limited (“UBE”) organized a workshop titled “Utilizing By-products as Agricultural Inputs to Reduce Costs and Increase Yields.” The initiative aimed to transfer knowledge on adding value to by-products from the ethanol production process, enhancing production efficiency for local farmers. The event was officially opened by Ms. Karnnaporn Karnnasuta, Executive Vice President Corporate sustainability Corporate Sustainability, Corporate Communications, and Government Relations, at the company’s headquarters in Ubon Ratchathani Province.

The workshop highlighted the use of ethanol production by-products, particularly “vinasse,” to improve soil quality, restore fertility, and increase crop yields. This was complemented by the “7 Human Capitals” concept to strengthen farmers’ capabilities and promote self-reliance. More than 100 farmers from four districts—Na Yia, Phibun Mangsahan, Sawang Wirawong, and Warin Chamrap—participated in the program.

The training featured expert speakers, including Prof. (Special) Dr. Yongyuth Osotsapa, a soil scientist and fertilizer expert from Kasetsart University, who shared insights on the effective use of vinasse for soil and crop improvement. Mr. Sathian Thongsawat, Chairman of the Ubon Ratchathani Organic Agriculture Community Enterprise Network 52, also delivered a session on “Empowering the 7 Human Capitals: A Modern Sufficiency Approach Toward Sustainable Profit,” focusing on holistic cost management, including knowledge, time, and labor.

In the practical session, participants engaged in hands-on learning across four stations: producing vinasse for plant and livestock use, applying dry by-products for soil rehabilitation, utilizing by-products for animal feed, and producing concentrated vinasse for crop nourishment—practical techniques that can be directly implemented in their farms.

This initiative reflects UBE’s ESG commitment to enhancing farmers’ quality of life through environmentally friendly innovation and building a strong, sustainable agricultural network that grows alongside the company.
