Ubon Bio Ethanol Public Company Limited, or UBE, a fully integrated cassava processor and manufacturer, has reaffirmed its strong commitment to sustainability after being upgraded to an AA rating in the SET ESG Ratings 2025, improving from an A rating in the previous year. The achievement reflects the Company’s dedication to strong corporate governance and the full integration of sustainability principles across all dimensions of its business operations. Looking ahead to 2026, UBE has set its sights on elevating its operations to align with global sustainability benchmarks, with the goal of entering the FTSE Russell sustainability index, reinforcing confidence among all stakeholder groups.
Ms. Suriyas Kovsurat, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Ubon Bio Ethanol Public Company Limited (UBE), stated that throughout 2025 the Company has continued to advance sustainable business practices under the ESG framework—Environmental, Social, and Governance—by embedding sustainability into its core operational processes. This includes comprehensive risk management, portfolio diversification to mitigate risks, and preparedness for emerging risks arising from social and environmental changes. These efforts aim to enhance long-term competitiveness while creating shared value for all stakeholders.
UBE’s ESG performance has been particularly distinguished across all dimensions. In the Environmental aspect, the Company focuses on minimizing environmental impacts by driving its operations through the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy model, applied throughout its ethanol and cassava starch production processes. In the Social dimension, UBE supports farmers in cultivating high-quality cassava and promotes the adoption of technology to increase yield per rai, contributing to improved livelihoods and sustainable income for farmers. In terms of Governance, the Company emphasizes transparency and strong corporate governance, embedding these principles as core DNA within its organizational culture—resulting in a significant improvement in its overall ESG score.
For the SET ESG Ratings 2025, UBE achieved an AA rating in the Resources sector, upgrading from an A rating in the previous year, as assessed by the Stock Exchange of Thailand. The Company has been recognized as a sustainable stock for the third consecutive year and is among only 80 listed companies awarded an AA rating. This recognition underscores UBE’s continuous commitment to business development alongside genuine sustainability, highlighting its focus on balancing financial performance, good corporate governance, and social and environmental responsibility. UBE remains committed to fostering an ESG-driven culture as a strong foundation across the organization, ensuring that all employees understand their role in creating positive impacts and delivering sustainable shared value to all stakeholders.
“While the higher ESG score serves as a validation of our operational effectiveness, our greatest pride lies in seeing the tangible value we deliver to society and the environment every day—whether through improved quality of life for farmers or the ecosystems we help preserve,” Ms. Suriyas said. “We are committed to setting new standards for business operations, not solely for corporate growth, but to build trust and deliver a sustainable future for all.”
Looking forward, UBE remains determined to elevate its position as a leader in the food, energy, and sustainable agricultural value-added products industries. The Company continues to focus on innovation and the creation of value-added products to drive growth, while strictly adhering to ESG principles across all dimensions. Environmentally, UBE has set a target to achieve Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. Socially, the Company emphasizes Creating Shared Value to strengthen upstream farmers and surrounding communities in a sustainable manner. From a governance perspective, UBE is committed to transparent, fair, and accountable management.
A key milestone for 2026 is UBE’s ambition to meet international sustainability standards through inclusion in the FTSE Russell sustainability index. This objective underscores the Company’s commitment to operational excellence, transparency, and accountability, serving as a critical driver in building the highest level of confidence among shareholders, investors, society, and business partners both domestically and internationally.
