UBE Joins Forces to Advance Biodiversity Towards a Nature-Positive Future

On 10 August 2026, Ubon Bio Ethanol Public Company Limited (UBE) participated in the “Thailand Nature Positive Forum 2026,” held under the theme “Driving the Business Sector Towards a Nature-Positive Future.” Organised by the Biodiversity-Based Economy Development Office (Public Organization), or BEDO, the event took place at Asawin Grand Convention Hotel in Bangkok.

The event was presided over by Ms. Raveewan Phuridej, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. Representatives from government agencies, the private sector and partner networks gathered to exchange knowledge, experiences and approaches to the conservation, restoration and sustainable use of biodiversity. The forum aimed to advance Thailand’s business sector towards the Nature Positive goal and support the implementation of the National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP).

On this occasion, Ms. Kandaporn Kannasoot, Senior Executive Vice President – Corporate Sustainability, Corporate Communication and Government Relations, represented UBE in receiving a certificate of recognition in the “Nature Positive Pioneer” category. UBE was among 14 organisations recognised by BEDO for applying biodiversity knowledge and tools to their operations, supporting economic growth alongside balanced environmental and social stewardship.

Following the certificate presentation, Ms. Kandaporn participated in a panel discussion titled “Business Case Studies: Advancing Towards Nature Positive.” She shared UBE’s business approach, which goes beyond minimising environmental impacts by creating shared value and delivering positive outcomes for nature through the integration of biodiversity into the company’s operations and value chain development.

UBE places strong emphasis on promoting sustainable agriculture, improving resource efficiency and reducing environmental impacts. The company also works closely with farmers, communities, government agencies and partner networks to conserve, restore and enhance biodiversity—an essential foundation for food security, quality of life and long-term sustainable growth.

“Sustainability is driven by the power of diversity, learning and collaboration. By working together to protect biodiversity, we can create a balance between nature, business and people, paving the way for a sustainable future,” Ms. Kandaporn said.

The recognition reflects UBE’s commitment to integrating the principles of Nature Positive, Biodiversity, Sustainability and Sustainable Agriculture into its operations. The company believes that nature should not be regarded merely as a resource to be utilised, but as vital “natural capital” that all sectors must collectively protect, conserve and restore.

UBE remains committed to strengthening collaboration and transforming biodiversity-related challenges into opportunities to create shared value, enabling nature, businesses and people to thrive together under the concept “Rethink, Reshape Towards a Nature-Positive Future.”
